Part III

ZIONS

Tuesday was spent in Zions.  Perfect day for a little bit of hiking.

 Weeping rock

The Narrows..... which is a difficult hike through water and a narrow canyon.
Very, very cold water.

We didn't take the camera because of the high likelihood of falling in.
There were some spots where we were up to our waist.
Freezing.
Braden and I want to go back in August when the temperature is up and the current is down.

Part II

SNOW CANYON

The boys went down into some cool caves

 Sand.  Everywhere.

 Beautiful landscape

So attractive.
The sole purpose of this is to embarrass Braden one day.

Lunch!!

Hiking, hiking hiking!

This hike is called "Pioneer Names" and has names written in axle grease from the 1800's

17 Rocks! Part I

This week is Spring break... but unfortunately Robert still had to teach.  It was also Braden's 17th birthday so I took him, two friends, Brendon & Sawyer (yep - that's his name.  weird) along with Grandma Zee and Kayla and Tyson down to St. George and Zions Park.

So very much fun!!

I'm wishing I could have done this with Kayla and Andrew when they were this age.  The kids had a blast and so did the mom :):)  It's going to take a few posts to adequately tell the story.

We stayed at the condo's.... lots of old memories of Easter with the Law family here.
The boys played WII, watched movies and tried to get hyped up on caffeine.  That last part didn't work out so well for them.  baahaahaa.

Grandma Zee the cook

I got to the pool just as the boys were getting out and so only got photos of me, Kayla and Tyson.  It was 80 degrees and beautiful!

BIRTHDAY BOY!
no - the vacuum wasn't his present.
it was to clean up the broken glass :)

Impact!

Braden is the sound guy for Lehi High School's indoor drumline (Impact).  We went to Payson Friday to watch his competition.  They have been getting first at almost all of their competitions.  Pretty sure that is because of the most-awesomenest sound guy ever.

First snow-hike and ice-sledding of the year...

Today we took Braden, his friend Jared, Shea and Jack up American Fork canyon.  There wasn't quite enough snow for snow-shoeing but we made do.

After the hike, we headed over to Mutual Dell one of our favorite sledding places from years ago.  Not too much snow, more like ice; but the kids had a blast sledding.

Sadie Hawkins

11.11.11 was Sadie Hawkins and Braden was asked by his friend Rachel.... they went with a group of kids and everyone dressed for the game Clue.  Braden and Rachel were "Mrs. Peacock".  I love this group photo (though the ones below show more of their true characters).

The evening consisted of the photo shoot, pizza, life-sized Clue, real Clue, watching Prestige, going to the dance and then eating waffles and ice cream.  All in one date.  They all had a blast.

Dang - my offspring are good looking!

Marching band competition

Robert and I went up to Logan to watch Braden at his marching band competition.  They didn't come in first like they had hoped, but I thought they were fabulous!

These kids work so hard - really this should be considered a sport.  It takes hours and hours of practice and then they go to multiple competitions and play at the football games.  All while playing in other bands (Braden is in two others), keeping their school work up and cheerfully doing everything their parents ask.  That last one might not be completely accurate, but we can always hope for cheerful.
