Halloween 2012

Yep - it's Peter Pan and Tinker Bell.
and I'm one proud mama.

Four Jedi Knights, Batman, Dorothy, Superman and a witch.
Makes for a perfect Halloween.

Ottoman maker - that's me.

I saw this ottoman online and thought it would be perfect for our living room.  But it costs $399.  That is crazy expensive!  So I decided to make my own.

It just took a wood pallet, professor honey-buns to reinforce it, upholstery fabric and a nail gun.

Ta-da!

Boys trip to the cabin

The kids had their fall break this week so I took Braden and three crazy friends up to the cabin.  The weather was fabulous and we all had a blast. Luckily for me, Joi Lyn (Josh's mom) came for moral support.    And basic sitting-on-the-deck company.

At the cabin, the boys ate, drank enough soda to float a boat, played risk, munchkins and spent time rotting their brains on video games.

The boys did have to earn their keep so we went to an abandoned orchard and picked apples.

We drove up Fish Haven Canyon and sent the boys on their way with the Ranger and a picnic lunch.  Joi Lyn and I went for a hike with Kamo.

I did a little work around the cabin and started decorating the upstairs bathroom.

Love for a Grandma

Saturday was a hard day for everyone, but most especially for Lois.  After 65 years together, I think it is very difficult for her to face this time in her life.

This photo makes me both sad and happy.
Sad for the occasion, happy for the love my children have for all of their grandparents.
What amazing heritage they have.
What amazing people my children are.

p.s.  see that baby bump??  Only five more weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Yay for baby Cook :)
