purple marching pioneers.

Braden and I spent the last week down in Lehi (staying in a little hotel, just like last year) so he could be at marching band camp.  7 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day.  Even though it was long, hot and exhausting; the staff and kids were great and Braden is feeling really good about  his new high school.

And yes - the school mascot is a pioneer and their colors are purple and white.  Not sure why I think that is funny, I just do.  But then again, my high school mascot was a fish.  A big maroon fish.

Braden was awarded the spirit stick the last night.

Braden is in the first section trumpet
and is doing fantastic!

Wild Flowers

I have never seen such amazing color as this year in the Tetons.
Wildflowers everywhere!

Togwotee Mountain

25 years ago, we spent our honeymoon in Jackson Hole and the Tetons..... so we headed back to do a little decompressing :):)

Hiking, biking and enjoying amazing scenery.  A fabulous week!!!!!!!!!!

Amazing cabin with wood burning stove.
This is what I want for my birthday next year.

The Tetons peeking over amazing trees

$52 for Bear Spray
required...
It worked too well, we didn't even glimpse a bear.
Beautiful pastures

It's been a loooong time since I went mountain biking.
my legs are old.

Love this photo with the Tetons in the background

We did a 7 mile hike one day.  3.5 miles straight downhill.
which, of course meant 3.5 miles straight uphill.
I was TIRED!!!!!!

House update....

Kayla reminded me that I haven't posted pictures of the house lately.  These were taken about 10 days ago.  We won't be back in Lehi for another week, so I'm sure we'll see many changes then.  So exciting!!

Kitchen without counter tops.

Stairs leading up to bonus room, bathroom and Shea and Braden's room

Dining room looking into living room.
Shea and her kazoo.
Every house needs a kazoo.  And a Shea.

Outside.
Duh.

kinda hard to tell, but this is the captains bed
being built in Shea's room.

Saying goodby

I thought about taking pictures as we packed up... but it was hot and there was soooo much to do.  Shea stayed at Piper's house the night before we left Oklahoma and so we did a little goodbye photo shoot right before we headed out.

Congratulations to Braden!!

Piper.

One of the things we'll miss when we leave Oklahoma is Piper.
She calls me Grandma.  And hugs me.
And she ADORES Shea.

Andrew, Lexus & Conner

It's been great fun having Andrew and Lexus here for a few days.  Definitely the bad part about living in Utah is that we will be 18 hours away instead of 6.  Bummer!
